National Conservatism

I have often said that I am a proponent of National Conservatism, from an offset many of my more left leaning friends have asked me, “Emanon, you’re a pretty left leaning guy, how can you be a proponent of conservatism”.

Well National Conservatism is different from the economic neo-conservative method of doing things. National conservatism is an ideology we see in Canada, and many European countries which focuses more on bettering the country as a whole versus what many American Neo-conservatives “MAY” [I do not wish to throw all neo-cons or cons in one boat...since I do respect and agree with paleoconservatives such as Eisenhower and Goldwater on an array of things] advocate for which is the bettering of a few individuals.

What national conservatism advocates for is what you may see in these European countries/Canada. That is the heavy investments in education system, that is investing in your health care system, that is investing in greener energies, that is renovating the roads, forestry, rivers, etc etc to try and make life better for Americans as a whole is what I advocate for.

It does not stop businesses or people from making money, I would even guess it makes life easier for people to make money. If you invest in your education system, as I said in my “Why socialism?” piece you have a better educated populace, which are more work ready and as such you have more entrepreneurs, more people hiring etc which I believe is in the interest of America that we start doing something because… with respect to health care, in the early 90s you had 45K Americans dying every year due to a lack of medical coverage, as of 2010… though the population has only grown 32% … the number of people dying from a lack of medical coverage has grown over 300%... to be exact to now a whopping 335% increase to now 150K Americans now dying each and every year due to a lack of medical coverage with 50M Americans are now without health insurance, with 50.7M Americans living below the poverty line etc

Okay, I told a friend I would do a stamp for this for her page, I am unsure if she wanted “national conservatism” or “national conservative”… so I did a more broad national conservatism which I am an advocate for which does not contradict my ideological views of being a liberal, progressive, democratic socialist…
